Chelsea
began her riding
career in
Schaumburg,
Illinois, riding
hunters and
equitation at
Palatine Stables for
a year. In 1997,
she moved to
Colorado and began
training with James
Moore and Grant
Schneidman at the
former High Prairie
Farms. Here she
leased and rode as
many training horses
as possible,
beginning to compete
in eventing and
through Pony Club.
Chelsea and her
first horse, San
Francisco Bay, rose
through the levels
of eventing to
finally compete on
the international
scene. Starting at
Training level in
2000, “Frisco” and
Chelsea traveled
across the United
States to shows in
Texas, New Mexico,
Wyoming, Illinois,
Virginia, New York,
and Quebec, Canada.
Most notably,
Chelsea and Frisco
took part in
numerous Young
Riders events,
ranging from clinics
to the NAYRC
championships which
they attended in
2002 and 2003, under
the tutelage of Mike
Huber. Frisco has a
naturally impressive
gallop, and
absolutely loves
galloping across
country. He’s now
in New Mexico with
his new owner, Cara
Siler-Evens, placing
in many Training
events.

While riding Frisco,
Chelsea also began
selling and training
horses out of Fort
Collins, Colorado
while attending
Colorado State
University. Reggae,
Jake, Levi, Roy,
Dennis, Tara, and
JoJo are a few of
the horses Chelsea
has had the pleasure
of riding and
training. In early
2005, with the
support of her
biggest sponsors
(her parents Ben and
Susan), Chelsea
purchased Revere
Road, a FEI CIC**
horse from Ocala,
Florida. She was
able to show and
compete in numerous
events on the East
Coast at the
Intermediate and
two-star levels of
eventing in 2005,
under the training
of Kelli
Temple,
Mara Dean, and Jan
Thompson. Due to
time constraints
with classes,
Chelsea showed
‘Revvy’ in the
modified (4’0-4’3)
jumpers in 2006 with
the help of grand
prix jumper John
McConnell.
Chelsea began
teaching in Pony
Club more than six
years ago, and now
teaches a range of
students: juniors,
young riders, and
adult amateurs. She
has also been an
examiner for D and C
level ratings
throughout Colorado,
and continues to be
involved in both
eventing and Pony
Club competitions.
Chelsea is attending
Colorado State
University as a
student in the
Professional
Veterinary Medicine
Program of 2011, but
she continues to
teach and ride.
